Project Support for Community Development Department

Skellefteå is undergoing a societal transformation where issues of growth, transition, and long-term development are central. The Municipal Executive Office has an overarching responsibility for strategic governance, monitoring, and development, working closely with political leadership on issues crucial for the municipality's future.

We are now seeking project support for the Community Development Department within the Municipal Executive Office. The position is a fixed-term employment starting as soon as possible, but no later than May 7, 2026, and extends until March 31, 2028. The role is linked to the Kvogo project, a regional collaboration within Region Västerbotten aimed at strengthening the community's capacity during layoffs, transitions, and green transformations through cooperation between public actors.

YOUR ROLE

This is a new role in the organization, providing you with a unique opportunity to shape content, working methods, and structure based on the needs of the organization. You will have significant room to influence how the assignment develops over time and contribute to creating clear and sustainable working methods. As project support within community development, you will play a central role in monitoring projects related to the Kvogo project. You will be responsible for following up on project goals, activities, and guidelines, as well as contributing to clear and appropriate structures for monitoring and reporting.

Your role includes preparing materials for the political leadership and municipal board, and, if necessary, also for the media. You will contribute to strengthening the political leadership's ability to monitor and steer community development through analysis, compilation, and clear presentation of relevant information. The role is new in the organization and will develop in close collaboration with the organization based on the needs of the assignment.

YOUR COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE

We are looking for someone with a university degree and experience in administrative work. You have a good ability to work with IT tools, statistics, and reports, and can analyze, summarize, and communicate complex information in a structured and clear manner. You communicate well in Swedish, both spoken and written – having Swedish as a native language is not a requirement – and you also have the ability to express yourself in English, both spoken and written.

You have a pronounced interest in societal issues, particularly related to growth, place development, and conditions for businesses and private companies. Experience working in or close to a politically governed organization is an advantage.

As a person, you are analytical and structured, with the ability to complete tasks within given timeframes. You work independently, can argue factually, and thrive in a role where accuracy, responsibility, and professionalism are important parts of the assignment.

Here, you will work closely with both political leadership and operations on issues crucial for the municipality's long-term community development.
